Open Show 28th March 2010 I thoroughly enjoyed my day and would like to thank all exhibitors who honoured me with the opportunity to judge their dogs. Additionally, thanks to the officers
of the club for their warm welcome, and to the members for their invitation to judge. Special thanks also to my stewards who kept things moving in a most efficient way throughout the day. Quality in most
classes was good, temperaments were excellent, and it was pleasing to find that the majority were well muscled at the end of the long winter. There was some variation in height and spotting, both of which I feel
need close attention. Tick markings seem to be creeping back in and rather spoil the picture, as does overly large and uneven spotting. Whilst correct conformation and size cannot be overlooked, I believe that
the physical feature that makes a Dalmatian so different to other dogs, its spotting, warrants more attention than it receives when considering the requirements of the breed standard. I was delighted with the
quality of the main winners at this show and pleased to see some promising youngsters coming up through the ranks. With such a spacious ring, it gave everyone the opportunity to move at their best.
Veteran Dog 3 (1 abs) 1st : McCarthy's ~ Ch. & IR Ch. Tollwood Lionel at Kilndandy JW
A dog that I have long admired from the ringside. Presented in excellent condition. Difficult to add to the praise already heaped upon him. Classic outline, proportions and size, excellent spotting and
pigmentation. Can move so effortlessly when he wants to, and today he did. Best Veteran In Show.
2nd : Davis's ~ Streamline Magic Secret
This handsome black is always presented in such good hard condition and knows how to move. Taller than 1 with masculine head and friendly expression, lacks the bend of stifle to move with the balanced
drive of 1. Pleasing spotting. A credit to his owner.
Minor Puppy Dog 1 (1 abs)
Puppy Dog 2 (0 abs) 1st : Talbot's ~ Winflash Willie Do It at Leaveslake Nicely balanced with dark eyes and pleasing head. Moved out so positively for a youngster holding his balance
and topline on the move. Soundly made with good bone. A promising future awaits this quality dog. 2nd : Whiting's ~ Cibrith Captain Kirk
Moved out well. Good depth of brisket and tuck up. Lacks the overall balance and bend of stifle of 1, but much to like about him.
Junior Dog 2 (1 abs) 1st : Pearson & Dodds ~ Kelevra Hudson Hawk Boldly spotted, he moved confidently around the ring. Pleasing head and dark eyes, well defined withers, good depth

slowed her on the move. She obviously still enjoys her showing and positively flowed effortlessly around the ring with an excellent stride and reach.
