Dalmatians
Firstly I must apologise to all those who entered the Dalmatian classes & made the long journey to Builth Wells through horrible weather, & then waited until now for this critique. Unfortunately
when I arrived home I had a small stroke, causing me to lose the use of my right hand & which also badly affected my speech, so I could not write a report or dictate one! My grateful thanks for some lovely
flowers & delightful letters after the show & I am so sorry I was unable to thank you until now.
I was very sorry on the day that you & your dogs all had to stand in a howling gale in icy cold & I tried to warm you all up with an extra run or two in the ring at the beginning of each class.
MPD (1) 1 Beeston's Tyrodal Special Encounter with Sanodal, well made puppy, good distribution of liver spots, good bend of stifle, well shaped shoulder, well set tail, lovely round feet &
nicely trimmed nails.
PD (0).
JD (3,1a) 1 Williams' Phadante Brightonrock, delightful youngster, good temperament, very nice head, good length of neck, particularly good cat feet. Coat needs to clear to complete the picture; 2
Goodswen's Tamilanda Pink Vigilante from Alphadal, I was sorry to find this dog less than anxious to be friendly. A nice looking dog, well spotted, very nice head. Some training will be necessary to ensure that he
does not spoil his chances with poor temperament.
PGD (5,3) 1 Willis' Cibrith Cosworth, rather dark liver spotting, very nice head, well constructed, in beautiful condition; 2 Addersley's Leiahart Chicago Bear, slight evidence of skin trouble on
head & body detracted from his overall appearance. Failed in head to 1; 3 T Pink Vigilante from A.
LD (5) 1 Smith's Dalleas Mulberry, well distributed liver spots, good length of neck, lovely tail set. When persuaded to move correctly had lovely forward action; 2 Fleming's Chandhally Cuvee du
President, heavily spotted black, charming face & delightful expression. Failed in body shape, particularly stifle, to 1; 3 Whiting's Dalesbred Djamaica at Cragvallie.
OD (6) 1 Stocks' Ch Dalmark The Shaded Moon at Nospar, nicely spotted liver of correct colour, excellent make & shape, lovely feet which carried him round the ring showing excellent movement.
CC; 2 Lamb's Dalpetro Dettori, good black spotting, excellent overall make & shape, good feet showing excellent movement. Coat not in such good condition as 1. RCC; 3 Hartley & Griffith's Ch Creaganbrec The
Favourite at Miragua.
MPB (3) 1 Burton's Hameldal Aphrodite, pretty face, nice make & shape. Would improve with a little more weight; 2 Page's Winflash The Final Magic, nice looking puppy but, as with 1, would
benefit from a little more weight; 3 Wherry's Jabbawock The Jezebel.
PB (2,1) 1 Neath-Duggan's Buffrey Gift Wrapped, delightful black spotted puppy, nice round quarters, moved very soundly. I appreciated the roly poly appearance I consider appropriate for a baby
bitch. BP.
JB (6,5) 1 Cheetham's Koroyza Cute As Candy for Dollywood, good black spotting, lovely face & particularly good eye colour. A bit of skin trouble spoiled the overall picture; 2 Whincup's
Tamilanda Lily The Pink, nice compact bitch, good black spotting, nice make & shape, very sweet expression; 3 Adderley's Phadante Bohemian Rhapsody.
PGB(15,11) 1 K Cute As Candy for D; 2 Alexander's Offordale Solitaire, nice bitch but failed in head to 1. Had lost hair on her feet & legs through having been washed in wrong detergent which
spoiled the overall picture; 3 William' Phadante Bossanova Baby.
LB (8) 1 Lamb's Dalpetro Desdemona, excellent black pigmentation, good black spotting, good movement; 2 Lewis' Hunterswood Razzmatazz, pretty head, elegant outline. Not quite the pigmentation or
spotting of winner; 3 Baker's Dalleaf Japonica.
OB
(7,5) 1 Cuthbertson's Ch Kalsidoni Garnet, an outstanding outline with what we used to call spots put on. Superb b/w, elegant head, neck coming down into a perfect shoulder, delightful expression, particularly when gazing at her owner/handler. Moved round the ring with elegance & drive, I could not fault her. CC & BOB; 2 Fleming's Chandhally Snow Queen, lovely head & beautiful expression as she looked at her owner, very good make & shape, excellent movement. Coat not quite at its best. RCC; 3 Neath-Duggan's Ch Buffrey Sprig O Mint.
