Joint Dalmatian Clubs Championship Show 2009 Judged by Mrs, Gwen Eady & Christine Lewis

DOGS

I found a great lack of quality. Movement was really poor in dogs I would not have expected & not enough attention is being paid to feet-Where are the cat feet as required in the Standard. This has a great bearing on the dog's movement among other things.

MP (4,1 a)

1 Burrow's Daedallus Deacon Blue at Shacarlu,
what a lovely baby, only 6 months & one day, so -full of himself, really good coat, he was sparkling all over, darkest of eyes & moved so well. Such a lot to like about him so I look forward to following his show career. BP;
2 Holburn's Glenlion Bowmore,
an older one, what a difference those few weeks make. In very good nick. appeared slightly straight in shoulder but this could improve if the handler stood back from so that he had to reach out. Moved well, good stride;
3 Swindell's Pjasdals Cwite Starstruck.

P (14,2)

This is the class I so enjoy, looking for potential 'greats' but what a disappointment-The movement was awful, most of the them were either cow hocked or pigeon toed, are they being wrongly exercised or what has happened.
1 Story-Taylor's Major Tornado at Kesteven, good bone & feet, correct lay of shoulder, good bend of stifle, so when he moved he strode out covering the ground, in tune with his handler;
2 Herhandez's Dalminish Star Gazer, attractive looking puppy, level topline, well set on tail. Carrying lovely puppy fat but should fine down with exercise which will also tone his muscles;
3 Goodswen s Tamilanda Pink Vigilante From Alphadal.

J (7)

1 Goff-Leggett's Washakie Nutcracker Prince,
liked this one a lot, very well proportioned, good reach of neck, well boned, correct shoulders, lovely head & expression. Needs to muscle up in his hindquarters which will come with maturity.Time is on his side;
2 Addersley's Leiahart Chicago Bear, good b/s, sound fellow with good tight white coat, moved well with drive. Not such a good reach of neck as 1 but well deserved his place;
3 Tingey's Holderness by Dallador.

Y (8,1)

1 Ch Creaganbrec The Favourite at Miragua,
what a beautiful fellow one I would have liked to take home. He came, he saw, he conquered, he fits the Standard perfectly, right size. well boned, good topline, moved with vigour covering the ground & striking out, gorgeous expression & super temperament. CC;
2 Goff-Leggett's Washakie Ascian,
attractive dog, he spoils his expression by flying his ears, hope he grows out of this. Has many attributes, good coat & condition, strong hindquarters, so he moved like a dream;
3 Precious- Holderness Henry Higgins by Lupiac.

PG (11)

1 Jubbs- Dalmark Double Agent,
good sound dog we get from the Dalmarks, good coat, deep black spots, evenly marked, good shoulders, level topline, well let down hocks, which he really rotated as he moved round the ring;
2 Whiting's Dalesbred Djamaica at Cragville, this is a very smart looking b/s dog. well laid shoulders, stands foursquare, strong hindquarters, so moved covering the ground. A little broad in the skull;
3 Smith's Dalminish Star Cluster.

ML (2)

1 Elys' Wintermine Dynamo,
well proportioned dog, level topline, very well muscled after his first run he started to favour one foot but I had seen sufficient good movement to warrant his place;
2 Alcock's Mapplewell Chocolate Box of Dalsparten, not placed in the previous class, he lacked the refinement of my winners, his movement rather let him down.

L (13,1)

1 Kembrey's Dalmark The Showstormer,
beautifully spotted b/s dog, on a tight white coat, in superb condition, very well balanced, correct shoulders, level topline, firm hindquarters, moved with great drive. Pressed the CC winner hard but in the final run off he lost interest so had to be content with the RCC, liked him a lot;
2 Thomases' Tollwood Highland Chieftan at Philcarthon, very sound, pleasing dog. nicely marked, good bone & feet, moved very freely. Would like a slightly finer head, not at all coarse;
3 Lewis' Man About Town at Hunterswood.

0 (14 1)

1 Parla's Washakie With Distinction to Macchaito,
very good all rounder, shows well, beautifully handled, went round the ring with a good strong action covering the ground with long strides, stood foursquare, good tight catlike feet.A lot to like about him but in the challenge he just lacked that extra bit of quality. Unlucky to meet those two in such cracking form;
2 Dunnachie's Ch Sophtspot Sugar Daddy at Dyojica.good one, similar in type to 1, very good topline & tail. expertly handled & he knows how to use the ring & show off his movement. Not in his usual sparkling form;
3 Cutts' Ch Kaytian Kalypso to Marzelina.

JV (1)

1 Neath Duggans Tumbril True Blue Butterfly
he certainly did not show he is now a veteran, full of beans & in sparkling condition_could certainly move well & could show some of the younger ones how it is done. BV.

SV

I was so sorry that there was only one entry & he was not here. It is good for us to see these doyens of the breed.

Brace (5.4)

My co-judge & myself had no hesitation in awarding this to Miss Kembrey & her lovely Dalmarks.
