East of England 2009 Judged by Chris Toynton

My first time awarding C.C.s in the breed. Overall presentation could be improved greatly in 80% of entry, especially to nails and feet. Temperament, as always, in this breed was absolutely impeccable, the health, quality & standard of the top winners was very high indeed. The exhibitors gave me a very good entry & warm welcome which I thank most sincerely.

M.P.D. (3,0)a.

1st Polhill's- Fincham Hurricane Jack.
Developing into a handsome boy, rich liver colour, evenly marked, good reach of neck going into flowing top-line, stands four square on tight cat feet, clean in outline & presentation, credit to handler, this youngster was my best P.D. he had command of the ring at this early age.
2nd Dodd's & Pearson's – Kelevra Hudson Hawk. Still very much a baby, very clean & well presented, just 6mths of age, big experience for him today, but he took it very well which shows good temperament.
3rd Stout's – Tynevale Tranquil Troodos

P.D. (3,0)a.

1st Croft's – Doubtwell Showstopper.
10mths of age, good dentition, fair length of stop, broad skull, alert & attentive, nice reach of neck, well placed shoulder, developing spring of rib, short coupled, drove around the ring with enthusiasm, very good presentation.
2nd Burrow's – Daedalus Deacon Blue at Shacarlu. Slightly longer in leg than 1st, stood four square, topline held well standing & on the move, everything in proportion, balanced well, just preferred showmanship of 1st.
3rd Kaal's – Dalmark the Sandman at Schunikka.

J.D (8,2)a.

1st Hoie, Ivarsson & Loken's – Solbo's Kayo.
Fine outstanding dog in peak of condition, masculine, muscled & evenly marked, powerful movement which was controlled at a steady pace, a stallion of the breed which could move all day, showed well, a fine dog which was close for the top honours.
2nd Christie's – Sophtspot Abracadabra. This kennel never fails to produce quality & this is no exception, in good coat, fit & hard, defined head, ears in proportion, neck of fair length, strong bone, tight cat feet, chest, deep & capacious, strong hind-quarters, well set tail, moved fore & aft with balance & drive, a very close class, but this dog is sure to make his name.
3rd Story-Taylor's – Major Tornado at Kesteven.

G.D. (3,1)a.

1st Tingey's – Holderness Hillbilly at Dallyador. J.w.
Appealing L/w boy, clean in outline, good front with tapering bone, sufficient depth of chest, topline flows into correct tailset, defined second thigh, steady movement, confident & with purpose, could carry another couple of pounds or so in weight.
2nd Quayle's – Buffrey the Shaded Sun at Cubalibre. Dark expressive eye, strong pigmentation, head & neck in proportion, would prefer a stronger topline, muscled rear quarters with shapely stifle, just a little lethargic on the move today.

P.G.D. (10,2)a.

1st Ayers – Elaridge Evolution.
Another outstanding stallion of the breed, very fit, hard, yet defined muscle, have watched him grow into a true carriage dog, broad skull, dark eye, strong but shapely neck going in to well placed shoulder, firm topline, projecting superb construction & confirmation, tight, well manicured feet, (one of the few today), bone & substance in plentiful supply, moved around the ring with pace & drive & true soundness, no holding back. Very close to top honours today but for lack of self containment in the final line-up.
2nd McCarthy's – Kilndandy Old Copper. Lovely boyish face, correct colour liver, nice head shape & kind expression, of good size, he befits the standard in all the right departments, moved with good traction & balance, one of the few well presented dogs here today, came close 2nd only on maturity.
3rd Goff-Leggett's – Washakie Aslan.

L.D. (8,0)a.

1st Jubb's – Dalmark the Double Agent. J.W.
Stood out in his class, with correct depth of liver colour on pure white background, every spot shone, with shapely head, arched neck & A good topline that flows into a well placed tailset, nice classical lines, strong in shoulder, lovely front with plenty of bone running down to nicely manicured tight cat feet (another of the few today), has a good amount of depth & spring of rib, short coupled, hind quarters has the angles, lines & muscle that matches the fore, when moved he tracked with definition both fore & aft, had to move him again in final line just to see his perfect balance on well sprung pasterns, turned out & presented in immaculate condition, he was so very close in the running for the top spot but for want of a little more enthusiasm.
2nd Smith's – Dalleaf Mulberry. In a class of predominantly liver spotted dogs this, again, of rich liver colour, in good coat, have watched him grow & mature, correct scissor bite, kind eye, ears well placed, muscled & fit, nicely bodied with developed second thigh, tail of correct length, moved with pace but would have liked a little more out of him.
3rd. Rance's – Olbero o o'seven

O.D. (14,4)a.

1st Bolt's – Ch. Fakenham Flash Gordon.
As the name suggests, a super hero, a true champion of our breed, of fine markings & pigmentation, perfect in outline, body, make & shape, super fit, with muscle that pushed & pulled in every department, alert & attentive, his handler & he moved as a single unit, presented in the finest of coat, attention had been paid to every single detail of the dog & it was to perfection, in a strong line-up he had to be my Dog C.C. & Best of Breed.
2nd. Hoie, Ivarsson & Jacobssen's – int.Ch & Eng.Ch. Bel-A-Mir's Elegant Envoy.
Second only to my Best of Breed, in a strong class with 10 champion's entered, this B/w dog has stature, sire of my 1st in P.grad & 1st in Jnr dog the quality of breeding stands out, broad skull, elegant neck, powerful shoulder, strength of bone & muscle, hard second thigh with definitive turn of stifle & well sprung pastern's, this dogs movement was as good as it gets, his topline not quite that of 1st today, all the same, had to be my Res. D.C.C.

M.P.B. (6,0)a.

1st. Neath-Duggan's – Buffrey Gift Wrapped.
B/w well marked little girl, full of enthusiasm, strong round bone, well up on her toes, held her head & topline perfectly as she moved around the ring, nicely balanced & presented well, should have a good future.
2nd Chance & Dodd's – Tynevale Take a Chance. Nice liver coloured youngster from quality breeding, correct length of stop, expressive eye, vivacious, liked her personality, maturing steadily, stood & showed well, sympathetically handled, moved with ease.
3rd. Bryder's – Diocletian's Scarlett 'o' Hara.

P.B. (5,0)a.

1st Johnson's – Tynevale Take Three to Tango.
Most adorable girl from good stock, beautiful rich pigment, well distributed profuse spotting, lovely coat, exuberant in nature, liked her head shape, for a young one she has the most striking outline & body, very curvaceous, moved around the ring with purpose & drive, sure footed & confident, handled with expertise, hope she does well in the future. No doubt about her being my B.Puppy.
2nd Croft's – Doubtwell Amazing Grace.
Quality b/w girl with very even spotting, dainty feminine expression, pays full attention to handler, clean outline, fair reach of neck, developing spring of rib, rounded hind quarters, lovely turn of stifle, stands naturally four square, positive movement, not a lot between these two just preferred showmanship of 1st, shall watch her progress with interest.
3rd. Bryder's – Diocletian's Scarlett 'o' Hara.

J.B. (10.2)a.

1st Adderley's – Phadante Bohemian Rhapsody.
Lovable liver of the correct colour even markings, good dentition, kind eye, shapely front, good shoulder placement & withers, short in loin, correct tail length, tracking well fore & aft with even movement, presented in good, clean condition.
2nd Stanton & White's – Sophtspot Barley Sugar. Very similar to 1st, not a lot to choose between them, nice shade of liver colour, not quite as profuse in markings, quality bred from one of my favourite kennels, 1st just had slightly more substance but this will improve with age.
3rd Whiting's – Cibrith China Aster.

G.B. (9.2)a.

1st. Richardson.s – Pearly Naughty Las at Jomihvar.
One of my favourites, jet black spotting, old fashioned head shape, darkest of eye, ears carried well, elegant neck, powerful & well placed into shoulder, solid front, clean topline, well formed ribcage, short coupled, firm, rounded hindquarters, shapely stifle, good spring on the pastern, correct tail length, stands naturally square, moved at a steady pace, positive & balanced, lovely rhythmic action, very close to top honours, hopefully very soon, presented to perfection.
2nd Tingey's – Phaeland Phoenix Phorever BY Dallyador. Correct liver colour, feminine head & face, kind expression, clean in outline, nice depth, sound on the move, presented very cleanly, just preferred the animation of 1st.
3rd Goff – Leggett's – Washakie Brown Velvet.

P.G.B. (5,0)A.

1st William's – Phadante Take a Chance On Me.
Liked her head shape, correct length of stop, close fitting lips & clean jaw, powerful shoulder, good solid bone, deep in chest, short coupled, well firmed rear & nice turn of stifle, moved around the ring with plenty of drive, handler gets the best out of her, definitely a class winner, lovely presentation.
2nd William's – Phadante Bossanova Baby. Striking pigmentation, lovely dark black make-up & dark, kind eyes, nice reach of neck, length of body in good proportion, moved with lots of enthusiasm making handler use all his resources to channel this energy, a couple of years more mature than 1st but preferred the make & shape of 1st.
3rd. Pilgrim's – Olbero One To Charm at Weaponess.

L.B. (15,3)a.

1st. Alexander's – Offordale White Lady. J.W.
Evenly marked b/w bitch with a feminine head that, to me, portrays the standard beautifully, elegant neck, flowing topline, shoulders well placed, stands four square & naturally so, fore & aft, she has all the angles & curves in all the right places, her neat, compact body has muscle definition all over, with well let down hocks & spring of pastern her poise & balance on the move is joyful to watch, her length of stride in relation to her conformation gives her the most powerful driving ability, she owns the ring & she knows it, one of the few , again, with tight, well manicured cat feet, depicting the breed standard the way she does gave me no doubt in awarding her the B.C.C.
2nd Rance's – Olbero One To Treasure.
Elegant liver of correct shade, sweetest expression, liked her reach of neck, solid front & plenty of bone, tight feet, tight feet, slightly longer in body than 1st, plenty of heart & lung capacity, well placed tail set, developed second thigh, moved on with good tracking both front & back, not so happy today, perhaps it's a girlie thing, unlucky to come up against the C.C. winner on top form, but sure to have her day in the future.
3rd. Tingey's – Olbero One Of Our Own at Dallyador.

O.B. (8,1)a.

1st. Christie's – Ch. Sophtspot Snap Crackle n Pop. J.W.
A difficult class with three top bitches in it, but this bitch, again, is quality produced from this kennel, even distribution of spotting, head shape & ear carriage perfectly in proportion, the neck, topline & tailset flow with continuity, strong in shoulder, well developed in body, she stands perfectly on well groomed feet, true & precise in movement, driving around the ring in super fit condition. Res. C.C.
2nd. Hoie's – N/Dk. Ch. Spotnik's Diva Deluxe.
Endearing face, rich liver pigment, very evenly decorated, intelligent expression, correct scissor bite, developed angulation on front, very strong, round bone, plenty of substance, correct tailset & length, , hard, developed second thigh, moved with ease & very little effort, powerful & positive, she could go on all day, very close to top honours, a strong contender, was shown & presented in a very professional manner.
3rd. Neath – Duggan's – Ch. Buffrey Sprig 'O' Mint. J.W.
