The quality in dogs was not of a very high standard compared to the bitches. Still a high proportion of short upper arms & toplines need looking at, either exaggerated fall in croup with low set tail or table top back with no fill in croup & higher set tail.

PD (2) 1 Harrison-Stratford's Dalkereve Dark Dragon, 10 months l/s, looks the part with good outline. Coming together well, clean neck to well laid shoulder. A little exaggerated but good tailset, moves well. Clear spots. BP & RCC; 2 Bolt's Fakenham Ferrera Rocher, raw 10 months, needing ring conditioning. Overall well balanced, pleasing head, good neck to wither, correct topline, well balanced angles in quarters, good liver decoration.

JD (4) 1 Taylor & Mackinnon's Frankish Hope And Glory for Kingpippin, black spotted 16 months, quite appealing in decoration & outline, masculine in head, good eye, well laid shoulder. Would prefer more length in upper arm. Good width to hindquarters; 2 Wilson's Wilsilva Caradoc, b/s & just short of 18 month. Not quite the size & bone of 1 but good proportions. More balanced length of blade to upper arm than 1 but erratic in action; 3 Baker's Dalleaf Devils Disciple.

YD (4) 1 Alexander's Offordale Chevalier, appealing b/s dog who has the style & presence. Much to like in head & eye, grace in neck, good wither, well handled & covers the ground well. A little loose in elbow; 2 Munro's Tanstar Sea The Stars, b/s & smaller than 1 but pleasing & steady in action. Good front extension, good depth of chest, topline & fall of croup to tail; 3 D Devils Disciple.

PGD (4) 1 Williams' Phadante Brighton Rock, liver, pleasing in head, good eye. Lacks a little elegance of neck but well laid shoulder with reasonable upper arm. Correct in rib though a little table topped in back without fill of croup. Steady in action & extends in front; 2 Webster's Tynevale Truly Talented at Dalmarno, not at his best & not the head & proportions of 1. Clean neck, good depth of rib. Dipped in topline & tail low set.

LD (4) 1 Croft's Doubtwell Show Stopper, black spotted & though not the biggest he is well put together. Good balance & proportions, pleasing head, eye & clean well set neck, good earset, correct in wither & topline, well muscled quarters & moved freely; 2 Croft's Koroyza Candy Man, larger dog but not the outline or topline of 1 being excessive in croup & low set tail. Excellent lay of shoulder, well ribbed, good width of hindquarters. A little erratic in front action; 3 Quayle's Buffrey The Shaded Sun at Cubalibre.

OD (7) 1 Bolt's Ch Fakenham Flash Gordon, mature l/s dog who fills the part in many ways. Good head & eye, balanced in quarters, good lay of shoulder, correct topline & set of tail, well ribbed & in action true positive, good front extension. CC; 2 McCarthy's Kilndandy Old Copper, pleasing in outline but not the body of 1. Clear liver spotting, well laid shoulder. A little flat in croup but good angles in hindquarters & steady action; 3 Burrows' Ch Daedalus Deacon Blue at Shacarlu.

PB (3) 1 Stevenson's Dalkereve Divine Decision for Macula, 10 months feminine b/s lady, pleasing to go over. Liked her head & expression, graceful neck, sound in body & quarters, good set in of tail, balanced action & good carriage; 2 Townson & Pardoe's Shacarlu Bumblebee, happy 8 months, quite mature but not as compact in back as 1. Good lay of shoulder, balanced angles fore & aft, good feet. Moved a little close but only a baby; 3 Christie's Sophtspot Cha Cha Cha.

JB (10) 1 Alexander's Offordale Sapphire, most appealing in her overall conformation & outline. Feminine, good head, eye & expression, graceful in neck, good carriage, excellent overall balance, quarters & ribbing, strong loin & ground covering action. Should go far. RCC; 2 Carvell's Holderness Hocus Pocus, much to like but not the overall grace & elegance of 1. Firm in body & elbow, good balance in angles, good topline & set of tail, extends well in action; 3 Kaal's Olbero One Quick Silver for Schunikka.

YB (5) 1 Quayle's Ch Cubalibre Spot On, very pretty bitch, lovely to go over, very feminine, good head & well set neck to good wither, correct in topline, strong in loin, well muscled quarters, well ribbed up, good feet & lovely action. One I looked at for further honours; 2 Cobb McGill's Kalokairie's Eye Candy, pleasing bitch but not the elegance or style of 1. Well put together, good forechest & correct angles, well muscled all of which showed in action; 3 McManus' Boschendal Lady In Red.

PGB (6) 1 Wright's Boutonneux Artemis of Millbelle, a deceptive bitch until you go over her. Feminine with style & good carriage, stands moves well, graceful neck, good wither & topline, good set of tail, well muscled. Coat possibly a little on the yellow side; 2 Hobbs & Whiting's Winflash Loopy Loo, black spotted with much to like, good head carriage, strong well laid shoulder & powerful body, well sprung rib. Perhaps a little long in loin but on the move an easy action; 3 Blakeley's Luccombe Strawberry Sundae.

LB (9) 1 Cheetham's Koroyza Cute As Candy for Dollywood, b/s, good type, style & size, lovely eye & expression, good wither & topline, a gentle slope to croup to good tail set. Balance of body & quarters & the best in action in the class; 2 Sheldon's Boutonneux Galathea at Gemmont, not the elegance of 1 & a little cloddy on the day but much to like. Excellent carriage, good angles & ribbing, well muscled, pretty spotting; 3 Clarke & Shears' Chandhally Chardonnay.

OB (8) 1 Christie's Ch Sophtspot Snap Crackle 'N' Pop, to me this black spotted bitch has the perfect outline & epitomises what the breed should be like. So well put together & balanced throughout in size, angles & quarters, pleasing in decoration, flows round the ring with good front extension & drive from the hocks. CC & BOB; 2 Fleming's Nor Ch Chandhally Snow Queen, pretty black spotted, good white ground, similar in type, of good size, well bodied, firm elbows. Not quite the development at wither but good bone & moved well; 3 Heath-Duggan's Buffrey Gift Wrapped.
