We had a good sized ring which allowed for the dogs to be really moved out. However, it is hard for dogs to move well when they are being jerked constantly sideways by their handlers, & a wish for the new year would be that handlers really work with their dogs in training on moving steadily on a loose lead. There were some dirty coats. Feet & nails were good overall. Three male dogs displayed temperament faults although not serious enough to be sent from the ring.

MPD (3) 1 Sibson's Tamilanda Vintage Pink, bonny 8 months confident liver boy, good bone, good length of neck, smooth over withers, correct topline & tailset, drove well from strong hindquarters. BP; 2 Lamb's Dalpetro Decaprio, liver of 7 months, much less mature than 1 & still needs to strengthen both fore & hind quarters in order to show full potential on the move. Happy temperament & enjoying his day out.

PD (4) 1 T Vintage Pink, best mover in this class; 2 Cleland's Candidals King Of The World by Deovolante, clear dense black spotting, excellent feet with short nails. Flowing neck, withers & topline held on the move but not driving as well as 1 from the hindquarters; 3 D Decaprio.

JD (4) 1 Casey's Moyglass Professor Plum, black, dense pigmentation but some ticking. Masculine head but not coarse in any way, excellent bone, correct angulation front & rear giving the driving powerful movement that one now expects from this dog; 2 De Rozario's Dalleaf D'Accord avec Jemblewood, liver, lovely clear spotting, strong male, correct front but not so steady in his hind movement as 1. Tail set on a little low so overall picture not so pleasing to the eye; 3 Cauldwell's Popspride And Prejudice.

YD (3) 1 Alexander's Offordale Chevalier, young black dog who excels in all aspects, one of the few with a forechest, correct angulation in fore & hindquarters, excellent topline from neck through to tail. Handler moved him steadily & in a controlled way around the ring displaying his lovely rhythmic driving action. CC & BOB; 2 Webb & Chrystal's Dalleaf Devil In Disguise at Jemblewood, black, very sound young dog but not so settled on the move as 1. Clear dense spotting, correct tail carriage, good round bone, correct angulation in both fore & hindquarters.

PGD (8) 1 Baker's Dalleaf Devils Disciple, liver, the third litter brother on show here, well done to the breeder on the depth of quality. Lovely clean outline, excellent topline with smooth withers, correct clear spotting, kind expression, moved out well; 2 Johnson's Tynvale The Tease, lovely sound liver dog who I liked very much, similar to 1, just lost out slightly on topline. Correct angulations with forechest, lovely length of neck, elegant with driving movement; 3 Lewis' Dalpetro D'Artagnan of Hunterswood.

LD (7) 1 Rose's Candidals Run Forest Run, best topline in this class, flowing from neck to tail with correct tailset & carriage, good angulations allowing him to move with drive around the ring, lovely temperament & dark pigmentation; 2 Page's Winflash Harvey Wallbanger, more lightly spotted, lovely expression. Not so elegant in type as 1 & not so steady on the move but correct angulations & strong muscular dog. Happy temperament; 3 Williams' Phadante Brighton Rock.

OD (11) 1 Adderley's Ch Leiahart Chicago Bear, a dog who I greatly admire in all aspects, lovely clean outline, withers & topline excellent & held on the move, clear dark spots, great temperament, straight front & strong hindquarters. Good driving action, handler showing her dog to his best advantage. Very close decision for the CC. RCC; 2 Hartley & Griffith's Ch Creaganbrec The Favourite at Miragua, lot to like here & has improved a great deal since I judged him as a youngster. Topline not as good as 1 but angulation correct front & hind. Moved with steady driving action, happy temperament, lovely spotty expression on a masculine head; 3 Tingey's Holderness Hillbilly by Dallyador.

VD (2) 1 Quayle's Ir Ch Cubalibre Top Spot, 7 years young & moving out better than some of the younger dogs here. Clear black spotting with dense pigmentation, happy temperament & lovely kind expression, long elegant neck, correct angulation fore & hind, moving with driving action. GCD (0).

MPB (5) 1 Lamb's Dalpetro Diva, black, happy, animated 8 months baby, lovely long neck, smooth over the withers, correct angulation fore & hind, moved out well; 2 Scott-Allen & Davis' Tolutim Eau De Vie, black, 9 months young lady, happy showgirl but not so animated as 1, particularly when moving. Lovely dark pigmentation with beautiful expression; 3 Webster's Tamilanda Pink Addition to Dalmarno.

PB (8) 1 Radford-House's Fivejays Oloroso, liver, beautiful young bitch at her first show, even correct spotting, feminine head & kind expression, correct angulations, good topline, steady on the move. Hope to see more of her in the future; 2 D Diva; 3 Rose's Candidals Born Free.

JB (6) 1 Stevenson's Dalkereve Divine Decision for Macula, black, clear spotting, good feet & nails, correct angulation fore & hind with level topline & smooth withers. Would like a little more animation from her but moved well; 2 Kaal's Olbero One Quicksilver for Schunikka, black, lovely long neck with good topline. More animated than 1 on the move but carrying tail too high which spoilt her outline; 3 Wallington's Holderness Hand Painted.

YB (8) 1 Gardinor's Dalispots Dubyana at Dakata, liver, best topline in the class with correct angulations that allowed her to move out sound & true, well handled. Not flashy or overdone in any way, even spotting, lovely expression. RCC; 2 Addy's Creaganbrec Evie Rose, black, very feminine expression, straight front & well muscled hindquarters, drove well around the ring, smooth topline, really enjoying her showing; 3 Alexander's Ch Offordale Sapphire.

PGB (4) 1 Davies & Cowton's Phadante Sweet Painted Lady, black, pretty bitch with lovely temperament, straight front, good bend of stifle, smooth topline, moved soundly & well; 2 Thorne's Cibrith Cosmos at Castletop, liver, lovely spotty face, correct topline & angulations fore & hind, deeper chested. Not so settled on the move as 1, more lead training would help; 3 Peers' Dalliviro Limited Edition.

LB (11) 1 Hobbs & Whiting's Winflash Looby Loo, black, more substantial bitch, smooth topline with correct tailset & carriage, clear spotting, handled well to show her positive sound movement; 2 Wright's Boutonneux Artemis of Millbelle, liver, lovely temperament, clear spotting with dark pigmentation, really good mover, driving out well; 3 Dore's Dalidor Ace Of Diamonds.

OB (6) 1 Tingey's Ch Phaeland Phoenix Phorever by Dallyador, liver, absolutely the best athlete of the day! In superb condition without losing any of her femininity, pretty head & ear carriage, correct angulation fore & hind, great topline from neck through to tail, completing the overall picture, powerful driving movement. Just a sound true lovely bitch. CC; 2 Whincup's Tamilanda Hot Pink, liver, very good bitch, just not quite the substance of 1. Long neck with clean withers, correct angulation. Moved well but couldn't match 1 for drive.

VB (4) 1 Williams' Phadante Bossonova Baby, black of 7 years, another veteran who can still move with drive around the ring. Good round bone, excellent topline, dark pigmentation; 2 Rose's Washakie Idaho by Candidals, black of 9 years, pretty, clear spotting, great topline & correct angulation. Not quite the substance of 1, nor the same drive on the move.
