Scottish Kennel Club 2008 Judged by Mr R H Gregory
A lovely entry for Scotland. When you are judging your own breed (having been in the breed since 1965) it is always hard when you have a clear memory of many years of beautiful specimens & I always
hope each I judge that dogs & bitches will come into the ring with some of those qualities. Here, especially in the dogs they were few & far between, the bitches were of a higher quality & with the
judicious choice of stud dogs could supply the breed with type & true Dalmatian characteristics. At times in the dogs I felt I was judging any variety Dalmatian - the only common characteristic was spots.
PD (7,1 a)
1 Hartley & Griffiths' Creaganbrec The Favourite at Miragua,
black dog, just short of 12 months of age, dense black spotting, has the size, the carriage & the action, balanced in body with good quarters & angles, correct in topline, croup & tailset, he was the only one to catch my eye.
BP & CC; 2 Tingey's Holderness Hill Billy by Dallyador, a young liver dog of 6 months, still a baby but I liked the overall picture, well proportioned & balanced though his head is still to
finish, well set neck, good bone & quarters, steady in action for his age; 3 Gatheral-Graham's Phaeland Passion Man.
JD (1)
1 Moate's Major Sheer Will at Sundown, b/s dog with a lovely
expression, pleasing spotting, well ribbed but a little long in trim, covers the ground well with good front extension.
YD (3,1)
1 Gamble's Mullabuoy Sir Winston, honest dog of good type, size
& balance, correct in bone with good rib, correct in forechest with good angles, good outline & pleasing action. RCC; 2 Martland's Hameldal Tribal Shadow at Deefadal, heavier marked than 1 &
full of himself, head a lit- tle strong in skull & a little too domed, though down in pastern he had quite good "feet, good balance of angles.
DD (3)
1 Major Sheer Will at S;
2 Stiff's Tynevale Tartan Trooper, liver dog of 7 months, pleasing in many ways though still to come together, good spotting, correct in blade & wither, good angles though a little erratic in action at the
moment; 3 Dodds & Pearson's Camargue Eurovision.
PGD (4)
1 Lamb's Dalpetro Dettori,
won the class on his balance, good neck & carriage, correct in ribbing & strong in loin. A little light in eye, would prefer more bone; 2 Hosie's Heroic Hector,
in general not this dog's day, he stood & moved wide, was allowed to stand with a reached back spoil- ing his outline. Good forechest, tailset & bone but could have made more of himself on the move;
3 Levy's Motek Nottinghill Norman.
LD (5)
1 Beaumont & Croft's Koroyza Grippi II Miracolo, black dog, may be a handful but he has a lovely balance, good bone, carriage & angles, liked his
head & expression, good earset, good ribbing & spotting. Tail a little low set; 2 Page's Winflash Harvey Wallbanger, though smaller & lighter than 1 another with balance, good car- riage,
toptine & tail, pleasing on the move; 3 Smith's Dalleaf Mulberry.
0D (8,1)
1 Dunnachie's Ch Sophtspot Sugar Daddy at Drojfca, I found pleasing in outline & a good specimen standing,
but here moved far too wide behind. Liked his head with a well set neck. Felt he was a little too heavy in body; 2 Moore's Ch Fincham Trade Wind. better in action than 1 but not in presence, good lines
& pleasing expression in eye though not too overdone in angles; 3 Cleland's Dalesbred Larkin About with Deovolante.
PB (12,1)
1 Polhill's Kymvale Savannah, at 10 months of age a pleasing
bitch & by far the best in action in this class, feminine & of good type & size, good body & quarters, she flowed & covered the ground with ease; 2 Ward's Frahkish Moon Flower, 7 months
bitch, clean lines, clear black spots & was lovely to go over, still to settle in action; 3 Tingey's Phaeland Pheonix Phorever by Dallyador.
JB (6,1)
1 Christie's Sophtspot Snap Crackle N Pop, when matures will have a lot to offer the breed, a week earlier I gave her the puppy group at The National & she just needs to finish, one I considered for RCC, her
time will come; 2 Moore's Manchando Choc Chip Cookie from Fincham, a pretty 8 months liver bitch, very feminine & I liked her head, neck & body. good balance & ribbing, lovely spotting, moves
with ease; 3 Clement's Kennies Royal Nuala at Caldecacre.
YB (7,1.)
1 S Snap Crackle N Pop; 2 Burton's Hameldal Sunshine Valley, nicely balanced l/s bitch, liver pigment a little dark
for me. Good Outline, topline & tailset, balanced in body & quarters, pleasing action; 3 Harrison- Stratford's Dalkereve Dark N Divine.
DB (5,2)
1 H Sunshine Valley;
2 Addy's Creaganbrec Raven Black, 11 months b/s, still to finish but coming together well, feminine & well coupled, good ribbing; 3 Page's Winflash Magic Mystery.

challenge; 2 Smallwood's Mapplewell Dancing Queen of Lascelles, pleasing bitch, not the outline & bal- ance of 1, liked her head & carriage & strength in quarters;
3 Tingey's Olbero One Of Our Own at Dallyador.
LB (9,2)
1 Cuthbertson's Kalsidoni Garnet,
I've watched this bitch since she was a puppy & feel she is one of the best this ken- nel has produced, such flowing lines, a head with correct expression, lovely eye & correct carriage, her neck flows into her wither, in action she flows.
CC, her first, & BOB; 2 Beaumont & Croft's Little Miss Fuss Pot for Koroyza, this black bitch really makes the most of herself, pleasing all round with good balance, well ribbed up & good
loin, puts all into her action, pretty spotting; 3 Page's Winflash Spring Angel.
OB (5,1)
1 Harrison-Stratford's Acland Dark Daughter by Dalkereve, a bitch who fills the eye with her
overall outline & steps out in front in action, clean lines, well muscled, good angles, bone & feet. Just couldn't match Kalsidoni Garnet on the day. RCC. 2. Neath-Duggan's Ch Buffrey Sprig O' Mint,
very pleasing but not the style or panache of 1, clean clear spotting, good body & quarters. Didn't extend as well in front as 1. 3. Stocks' Marricdale Miss Dynamite at Nospar.
