Border Union 2008 Judged by Mrs Heide Cutts

Puppy Dog (6. 1 abs)

1. Tingey's Holderness Hillbilly by Dallydor.
Very promising 7-month old , displaying remarkable self-confidence for one so young. Appealing head and expression with good eye colour. Very striking markings of a rich liver colour. Moved very soundly overall and showed like a veteran.
2. Gatheral-Graham's Phaeland Passionman. L/w which shared most of the qualities of the winner. More lightly marked than 1 but spotting of a good colour and distribution. Well constructed throughout but, unfortunately, he did not move as well as I expected.
3. Coates' Buffrey The Shaded Sun at Cubalibre

Junior Dog (4)

1. Hartley & Griffiths' Creaganbrec The Favourite at Miragua.
Just 12 months old but has everything to go right to the top! Masculine without any trace of coarseness, rich black spotting and outstanding showmanship. Excellent construction and really sound movement, both in front and at the rear. His overall qualities earned him the CC.
2. Kay's Kaytian One Kool Kat.
Really appealing l/w dog, which pushed the winner all the way. Well distributed spotting on a clear white background. Well constructed throughout, level topline and well muscled hindquarters. Moved very soundly both going and coming.
3. White's Roadcoach Rambler.

Novice Dog (1)

1. Moate's Major Sheer Will at Sundown.
Strong b/w dog, which is well off for bone and overall shape and size. Attractive markings of a good colour. Well developed hindquarters, which he used to good purpose on the move.

Post-graduate Dog (7)

1. Dinsdale's Dalesbred Dreadlocks.
Compact b/w which is masculine without being overdone in any way. Lightly marked but with spotting of good distribution and colour. Well balanced construction and very sound movement, especially at the rear.
2. Kazana's Dalzana King of Joppa. This b/w dog is very similar in type to the winner, being compact, lightly marked and well constructed. Very much in tune with his handler, both standing and on the move. Not quite the clarity of spotting of the one above him.
3. Cromwell's Mapplewell Black Magic by Liverdals.

Limit Dog (4)

1. Beeston's Leaveslake Timeout for Sanadal.
Well developed b/w dog which is well up to size. Good overall construction with a particularly good front. He had, undoubtedly, one of the best front movements here today. Spots well defined and well distributed.
2. Page's Winflash Harvey Wallbanger. Smaller and more compact b/w dog, which is very well balanced throughout. Lightly marked with dense black spotting and a clear white ground. Moved soundly. Standing, he stood foursquare and showed off his attributes to advantage.
3. Beattie's Smart Boy Prince

Open Dog (7, 1 abs)

1. Coates' Ir. Ch. Cubalibre Top Spot.
Medium sized dog with dense black spotting on a clear, white coat. Attractive head, well constructed and well balanced body, good stifles. Well developed hindquarters, which he used with drive on the move. Res CC.
2. Hartley & Griffiths' Miragua The Explorer.
Slightly taller than the winner with good overall balance. Very attractive head and expression, good shoulders and a well developed spring of rib. Moved very soundly both in front and behind. Ultimately, I felt he was carrying just a touch too much weight over the shoulders.
3. Stocks' Ch. Dalmark The Shaded Moon at Nospar.

Puppy Bitch (11, 3 abs)

1. Page's Winflash Magic Mystery.
Very well developed 8 month old b/w bitch. Well laid shoulders and strong front bone. Compact body and well muscled hindquarters, which she used to great advantage on the move. Excellent rapport with her handler. BP.
2. Clarke's Klarkeson Royal Destiny.
11 month old b/w puppy with exceptionally good markings. Rich black spots on a clear white ground. Very attractive head and expression, well constructed overall with sound movement.
3. Tingey's Phaeland Pheonix Phorever by Dallydor.

Junior Bitch (7, 2 abs)

1. Pickup's Roadcoach Ribbons and Roses.
Really sparkling b/w bitch with outstanding spotting. Good bone, really tight feet. Well balanced overall, level topline, good curve of stifle and moved with drive. Should have a bright future.
2. Saunders' Caprilli's Genuine Gift to Dallydyl. B/w bitch with a very appealing head and expression, enhanced by a really dark eye and spotty face. Well constructed body and good hindquarter muscle development. Lost out to the winner in maturity.
3. Christie's Sophtspot Snap Crackle N Pop.

Novice Bitch (4)

1. W. M. Mystery.
2. Burton's Hamedal Sunshine Valley.
Well developed, compact l/w with dark, amber eyes and an attractive expression. Soundly constructed. Good curve of stifle and well let down hocks, producing sound movement. A real showgirl, standing.
3. Taylor & MacKinnon's Frankish Desert Rose for Kingpippin.

Post-graduate Bitch (11)

1. Moore's Manchando Choc Chip Cookie from Fincham.
What a fabulous l/w bitch! Outstanding construction, balance and movement. Showmanship of the very best. I could not take my eyes off her from the start and she, deservedly, ended up with the CC and BOB.
2. Pilgrim's Olbero One To Charm at Weaponness.
Another l/w bitch with lots to like about her. Spotting of good colour and distribution. Very soundly constructed and moved with drive. Not quite the personality of the winner.
3. Tingey's Olbero One Of Our Own at Dallydor.

Limit Bitch (8, 3 abs)

1. Baker's Dalleaf Japonica.
Really gorgeous bitch that is quality throughout. Excellent construction, lovely l/w spotting and a great show personality. Moved with reach in front and drive behind. Very well handled to the Res. CC.
2. Clarke's Mapplewell Double Take by Klarkeson.
Very attractive b/w bitch, which is slightly longer cast than the winner. Attractive head and expression, good arch of neck leading down into well laid shoulders. Well muscled hindquarters and good movement both in front and at the rear.
3. Dodds & Pearson's Pollypeck Premier Passion at Daffydal.

Open Bitch (7, 1 abs)

1. Page's Ch. Winflash Spring Angel.
Very stylish b/w bitch with good overall construction and very sound movement. Compact, well balanced overall with lots of show personality. Very much at one with her handler.
2. Chance & Dodds Tynevale Triple Tickle. Sound, well balanced, l/w with a particularly appealing head and expression, created by her dark amber eyes and well held ears. Well muscled and well constructed hindquarters, producing good, driving movement.
3. Harrison-Stratford's Acland Dark Daughter by Dalkereve.
