Judge Zena Thorn-Andrews said,

"Tollwood Lionel at Kilndandy, he is too fat & thick over loin and rump, but after saying that he is a very lovely dally, liked his broad flat skull, ideal length and strength of muzzle, neat nicely spotted ears, good shoulder, correct balance of height to length, long ribs, super quarters, well set and carried tail, is evenly spotted and a lovely colour, fantastic mover."
